Project Description

Beaverton, Oregon

Phase I of the Hillsboro Consolidation was our third major project at Maxim Integrated, a computer chip maker in Beaverton, Oregon. The project was to build a three story, 90,000 square foot tilt-concrete office building with an inner steel structure in the parking lot adjacent to the fabrication facility (called “The Fab”). Having performed on a number of contracts for this client, Woodburn Construction was already familiar with the rigorous protocols of the site. However, due to the size of the building and its proximity to the Fab, it was necessary to have a fulltime exhaust monitor to keep all contractors on site, in compliance. The owner was vacating a large office building a few miles away on a date certain. Because of this, even with several delays in the permitting process (we were a month late starting) the end date of the project could not be extended. We finished the CM/GC contract on time.
